Luke Bolton’s early assist proved to be the only highlight for Salford City as they lost heavily at Bolton Wanderers. GethinJones’ men came away with a convincing 5-1 win in the Carabao Cup.
A whirlwind week saw Aribim Pepple complete a permanent transfer to Luton Town from Canadian side Cavalry FC. He then made a successful debut for loan side Grimsby Town as they beat Crewe 4-0.
Gillingham continued their solid start to the season thanks to a 2-0 victory over Wimbledon, with Olly Lee again at the heart of things.
Dion Pereira’s second half assist at Kenilworth Road couldn’t prevent his Luton Town side losing narrowly by a 3-2 score line to Newport County at Kenilworth Road.
Thursday
St Patrick’s faced CSKA Sofia in the second leg of their European Conference League tie. The Dublin side led by a single goal going in to the game and were unfortunate to exit the competition. Losing on the night by 2 goals to nil and a contentious penalty decision. Despite the result; Tom Grivosti was again excellent on the night and led by example.
Saturday
Midfielder Jamie Lindsay scored Rotherham United’s third goal in a 4-0 triumph over Championship rivals Reading. The Millers maintain their unbeaten start to the season.
Also in the EFL Championship; Callum Lang’s ‘Man of the Match’ performance inspired his side back into the game against Bristol City. His Wigan Athletic side drew 1-1 at the DW Stadium.
In League One; Gethin Jones and Aaron Morley featured for Bolton Wanderers during a feisty goalless draw at Port Vale.

Oldham Athletic new boy Ben Tollitt struck a fantastic winning goal at Boundary Park. They beat Dorking 3-2 in the National League.
Also in the National League; there were draws for Ed Francis’ Notts County, Elliot Lee’s Wrexham and Toby Mullarkey’sAltrincham.
Sunday
Ace winger Barrie McKay scored another brilliant individual goal for Hearts in the SPL. They dispatched Dundee United 4-1 at Tynecastle to continue their fine start to the season.
Striker Lizzie Arnot scored an incredible 4 goals for Rangers as they trounced Aberdeen 8-0 in the SWPL.
Over in Ireland; Tom Grivosti’s St Patrick’s Athletic returned to league action narrowly beating Sligo Rovers 1-0 at Richmond Park. #FullNinetyFamily
