Elliot Lee’s outstanding recent form saw him recognised as the PFA Fan’s League Two Player of the Month for October.He scored three hugely important goals during the month which maintained Wrexham’s quest for promotion.
Tuesday
Australia made it two wins from their opening two World Cup qualifying fixtures. It was that man again, Harry Souttar who scored the only goal, thanks to a towering header. Winger Martin Boyle made a return to the starting line up as ‘The Socceroos’ beat Palestine 1-0.
Halifax Town edged towards the National League play-off spots following their 2-2 draw with Fylde. Jamie Stott and Tylor Golden featured at the Shay Stadium.
Ed Francis completed 90 minutes for Gateshead as they made it three wins in succession. They beat Solihull Moors 2-1 to solidify 5th place in the table.
Wednesday
England made an early exit from the FIFA U17 World Cup in Indonesia. The Young Lions lost 2-1 against Uzbekistandespite dominating the last 16 tie. Ishé Samuels-Smith will head home and return to domestic action with Chelsea.
Ella Toone supplied the pivotal first half assist as Manchester United narrowly beat Liverpool 1-0 in the League Cup. Lucy Parry completed the 90 minutes for Liverpool, while Taylor Hinds was an unused substitute.
Kit Graham made no mistake from the penalty spot to send Tottenham Hotspur on their way to a 3-0 victory against Bristol City. Ashleigh Neville made a second half substitute appearance for Spurs.
Leicester City drew 2-2 away at Manchester City. The Foxes picked up the bonus point, thanks to victory in the penalty shootout. Hannah Cain confidently dispatched her spot kick.

Jamie Lindsay continues his return to action following injury. He made a late substitute appearance as Rotherham United consolidated their 1-1 draw with Leeds United at the New York Stadium.
Saturday
Hibernian moved up to 5th place in the SPL thanks to a 2-1 victory against Dundee. Martin Boyle featured at Dens Park,fresh from international duty with Australia.
Coventry City recorded an emphatic 3-0 away win at Millwall in the EFL Championship. Summer signing Liam Kitching starred for the ‘Sky Blues’ in East London.
Tyrese Campbell returning to action was a welcome sight at the Bet365 Stadium. He made a substitute appearance, although his Stoke City side lost 3-0 against Blackburn Rovers.
International footballer Harry Souttar watched on from the substitute’s bench as his Leicester City side beat Watford 2-0 in the EFL Championship.
Bolton Wanderers moved to top spot in League One in emphatic style. They trounced Exeter City 7-0 at home. Gethin Jones and Aaron Morley will be fully focused on promotion as they hit top form.
Tom Barkhuizen’s Derby County dug out a late winner at Pride Park. They edged Bristol Rovers 2-1 and move into the League One play-off places.
Callum Lang captained Wigan Athletic to a battling 1-1 draw at Leyton Orient in League One.
Wrexham hammered Morecambe 6-0 at the Racecourse Ground. Elliot Lee’s men stay in second place in League Two, keeping the pressure on Stockport County at the top.
Grimsby Town drew 1-1 with Sutton United at Blundell Park. Toby Mullarkey supplied an assist with a peach of a cross.
Ronan Darcy’s Crawley Town came out on top in their fixture with Harrogate Town. A goal in each half sealed a 2-1 win.

An Ella Toone double assist earned Manchester United victory in the WSL. The Red Devils won 2-1 at Bristol Cityand move up to third place in the table.
Liverpool scored four goals without reply to dispatch Brighton. Taylor Hinds completed 90 minutes, while Lucy Parry got a late run out.
Kirsty Smith and Emma Harries made appearances for West Ham as they made the short trip across London to play Arsenal. A disappointing result saw ’The Hammers’ lose 3-0.
Hannah Cain’s half-time introduction wasn’t quite enough for Leicester City after they lost 5-2 at Chelsea.
Everton won 2-1 away at Aston Villa with Emma Bissell making a late appearance from the bench.
