A huge congratulations to Martin Boyle who scored his 100thand 101st goals for Hibernian in their UEFA Conference League 3rd Qualifying Round 1st Leg. The Australian international was the star performer in the 2-0 win against Partizan Belgrade.

Saturday 

In the lunchtime kick-off, Coventry City collected a point on the first day of the the 2025/26 EFL Championship. Centraldefender Liam Kitching guided his side to a clean sheet in the goalless draw against Hull City at the CBS Arena.

Also in the Championship, Callum Lang’s ‘Man of the Match’display at the Kassam Stadium proved to be key inPortsmouth’s 1-0 victory against Oxford United. 

The televised evening fixture at Bramall Lane saw Sheffield United host Bristol City. Tyrese Campbell’s clinical finish was a rare highlight with United slumping to a 4-1 defeat.

Wrexham were desperately unlucky not to have come away from St Marys with a result on their EFL Championship debut. After leading for most of the game, two added time goals condemned ‘The Red Dragons’ to a 2-1 loss. The experienced Elliot Lee and 19 year old Harry Ashfield were unused substitutes. 

That man Davis Keillor-Dunn made it two goals in two games for Barnsley in League One. ‘The Tykes’ came from 2-0 down at the interval to complete an incredible 3-2 turnaround.Big defender Josh Earl played a faultless 90 minutes in abarnstormer at Oakwell.

MK Dons backed up their opening day success with a 2-0 victory at Barrow. Gethin Jones and Tom Barkhuizen both featured at Holker Street. 

Toby Mullarkey’s Fleetwood Town beat Bristol Rovers 2-1 at Highbury, and sit joint top of a fledgling League One table.

Harrogate played out an entertaining 3-3 draw with Grimsby Town in League Two. Jack Evans completed a hugely encouraging 90 minutes of action at Wetherby Road.

Ronan Darcy made a late cameo appearance for Chesterfield following his loan move from Wigan Athletic. ‘The Spireites’ won 2-0 at Cheltenham Town.

On the opening day of the National League season, Tylor Golden’s Altrincham edged out Aldershot 3-2 at Moss Lane.

Sunday 

Martin Boyle’s Hibernian had to settle for a point against Kilmarnock in the SPL. Hibs relinquished a two goal lead, drawing 2-2 at Easter Road. #FullNinetyFamily
