Sheffield United progress into round three of the Carabao Cup after beating Blackburn Rovers 2-1. Tyrese Campbell completed 90 minutes of action at Ewood Park.

Liam Kitching captained Coventry to victory in the Carabao Cup. City beat Plymouth Argyle 4-2 at Home Park to reach the 3rd round.

Wednesday

Callum Lang’s lively substitute appearance was the only highlight for Preston North End in the 4-0 Carabao cup defeat against Everton at Deepdale.

Thursday

Hibernian suffered heartbreak at Easter Road where two late goals ended their European hopes. Martin Boyle had a goal controversially disallowed in the 3-2 loss against Gent in the UEFA Conference League Play-offs.

Saturday

In the EFL Championship, Callum Lang and Zak Swanson suffered defeats on their travels. Preston North End lost 1-0 at Charlton and Portsmouth were defeated 2-1 at Bristol City.

Josh Earl enjoyed a dream debut for Blackpool at Bloomfield Road. ‘The Seasiders’ trounced Peterborough United 4-0 and are at the summit of the League One table.

MK Dons played out a goalless draw with Leicester City, with Gethin Jones and Harry Souttar featuring in League One.

Notts County’s early season form continued in League One with a 2-1 win against Burton Albion. Jack Evans and Ishé Samuels-Smith made appearances at Meadow Lane.

In League Two, Ronan Hale’s Gillingham drew 1-1 against Northampton Town at The Priestfield.

Oldham Athletic dispatched Swindon Town 3-0 at Boundary Park. Ryan Delaney’s men move up to 6th place in League Two.

Sunday

Martin Boyle opened the scoring at Dens Park, propelling Hibernian to a 2-1 victory against Dundee in the SPL. The win sees Hibs move into the top six of a fledgling league table.  #FullNinetyFamily
