Liam Kitching was introduced as a second half substitute for the Republic of Ireland in their Nations League match in Dublin. Austria pegged back the hosts and grabbed a 2-2 draw in League B.

In the Women’s Super League, Ella Toone marked her 250th professional appearance by orchestrating Manchester United’s victory against arch-rivals Liverpool. United edged a 1-0 win thanks to an early goal at Leigh Sports Village.

An 88th minute strike earned Rochdale the victory in League Two. Ed Francis and Jonny Smith both featured for ‘The Dale’ in the 1-0 win against Swindon Town at the Crown Oil Arena.

Sunday

Hannah Cain’s Everton came out on top beating Birmingham City 2-1 at Goodison Park.

Also in the Women’s Super League, Bethany England’s Crystal Palace battled to a 1-1 draw against Aston Villa at Villa Park.
