Sunday was a special day for Josh Solomon-Davies when his Marine side welcomed Tottenham Hotspur to Rossett Park. It was the Crosby based club’s reward for winning 7 successive FA Cup ties and never in FA Cup history had there been a bigger gap in league placings between two sides. They held their Premier League visitors at bay until the 24thminute when Spurs opened the scoring. The Mariners made a gallant attempt at upsetting the odds but were eventually beaten 5-0.
