Wednesday night was an action packed affair for the FullNinety family. A Jamie Lindsay inspired Rotherham United; took all 3 points after their 3-0 win over Derby County. In Scotland, Callum Morris gave a solid performance as Ross County triumphed 2-1 over Hamilton and Declan McManus was on target for Dunfermline in their 4-1 win over Raith Rovers. A big congratulations to Lioness Bethany England who scored as her Chlesea side beat West Ham 6-0 in the Continental Cup Semi-Final. Chelsea will now play Bristol City at Vicarage Road in the final on 14th March.
On Friday evening Blackburn Rovers academy graduate Dan Pike provided an assist as the Under 23’s lost to Manchester United 6-4 in a hotly contested Premier League 2 fixture. A game in which ‘Rovers’ had led on 3 separate occasions.
Martin Boyle continued his red-hot form and capped another fantastic week by scoring both goals for Hibernian during their 2-0 victory over Aberdeen on Saturday. He claimed the man of the match award for the second successive game following his performance at Easter Road on Saturday afternoon. Earlier in the week the Socceroo grabbed the winning goal, an assist and man of the match award in their win at St Mirren.
Also on Saturday; Harry Souttar made it 11 clean sheets in 22 Championship appearances as Stoke City earned a point after their 0-0 draw at home to Reading. Luton Town loanee Elliot Lee made his debut for Oxford United as they were narrowly beaten 3-2 away at third placed Doncaster Rovers. Ed Francis was on the winning team again after his Harrogate Town side won 3-1 at Crawley Town and Jamie Stott was part of Stockport County’s 1-0 win at home to Yeovil Town on his return to the starting eleven.
In the FA Women’s Super League, England stopper Ellie Roebuck helped her Manchester City side overcome Arsenal 2-1 and reignite City’s title chase.
