Bank Holiday Monday

A late equaliser denied Dion Pereira’s Dagenham & Redbridge victory in the National League. His side drew 2-2 at Southend United. 

Oldham Athletic also collected a point following their 1-1 draw with Gateshead. Josh Lundstram completed 90 minutes of action at Boundary Park.

Tuesday

Barnsley took the bragging rights in the South Yorkshire derby at Oakwell. Josh Earl again shone for the hosts duringthe 1-0 win against Sheffield United, and progress to the League Cup third round. Tyrese Campbell edges towards full fitness after completing a 30 minute substitute appearance, while Harry Souttar was rested.

Wednesday

Tom Grivosti’s St Patrick’s Athletic suffered UEFA Conference League heartbreak in Turkey. The League of Ireland side exit the competition at the play-off stage,following their 2-0 loss against Basaksehir (2-0 on aggregate). 

Thursday 

The New Saints finished off the job in their Conference League qualifying round. A goalless second leg at Park Hall confirmed their entry into the group phase. They beat Panevezys 3-0 on aggregate. Ben Clark made a late appearance from the bench, while Declan McManus was an unused substitute.

Saturday

Derby County beat Bristol City 2-0 at Pride Park. Tom Barkhuizen stepped off the bench in the EFL Championship fixture. 

Elsewhere in England’s second tier; Callum Lang and Liam Kitching suffered defeats for their respective Portsmouth and Coventry City sides.

Josh Earl’s Barnsley recorded a terrific 3-0 victory at Crawley in League One. The result left Town players Ronan Darcy and Toby Mullarkey disappointed. 

Midfield playmaker Aaron Morley completed 90 minutes of action for new club Wycombe Wanderers. His side drew 2-2 at Blackpool.

Elliot Lee starred in Wrexham’s comprehensive 2-0 win away at Peterborough United. The victory moves ‘The Red Dragons’ into second place in League One. 

Halifax Town made the long trip to Ebbsfleet worthwhile, collecting a 1-0 win. Jack Evans completed another 90 minutes in the National League.

Josh Lundram’s Oldham Athletic picked up a point following their 1-1 draw at Altrincham. 

In the evening kick-off; Ronan Hale’s Ross County conceded in injury time to lose 1-0 against Aberdeen in the SPL.

Sunday 

Sheffield United edged out Watford 1-0 in the Championship fixture at Bramall Lane. Harry Souttar marshalled ‘The Blades’ backline to a clean sheet, while Tyrese Campbell was an unused substitute.

Martin Boyle supplied an assist for the opening goal in Hibernian’s SPL match at Kilmarnock. Hibs had to settle for a point after a late equaliser (1-1).
