Manchester United made a valiant attempt to stall Chelsea’sWSL title celebrations at Leigh Sports Village. Ella Toone and Millie Turner featured in the narrow 1-0 loss, with United still in pole position to secure Champions League football next season.

Saturday

Defensive lynchpin Liam Kitching guided his side to a decisive clean sheet, which sees Coventry earn a spot in the Championship play-offs. City beat Middlesbrough 2-0 at the CBS Arena.

Callum Lang’s Portsmouth ended their EFL Championship rollercoaster of a season with a 1-1 draw against Hull City at Fratton Park.

Sheffield United drew 1-1 against Blackburn Rovers, with Tyrese Campbell being an unused substitute at Bramall Lane. ‘The Blades’ will regroup and prepare for the Championship play-offs. 

Talisman Martin Boyle came flying out of the blocks at Easter Road with a goal after 3 minutes. Hibernian went on to beat Dundee United 3-1 in the SPL. 

Ronan Hale opened the scoring for Ross County in the SPL, although his side lost 3-1 against Hearts. 

Championship bound Elliot Lee opened the scoring for Wrexham at Lincoln City. ‘The Red Dragons’ concluded their promotion winning season with a 2-0 victory. 

Barnsley won 4-1 at Reading in League One. Davis Keillor-Dunn ended his sensational campaign with a goalscoring brace, while defensive stalwart Josh Earl supplied an assist. 

Gethin Jones featured in Bolton Wanderers’ 1-1 draw against Stevenage Borough, which sees ‘The Trotters’ take 8th position in League One. 

A dramatic added time winner saw goalkeeper Joe Hiltoncelebrating promotion from League Two. Bradford City beat Fleetwood Town 1-0 in joyous scenes at Valley Parade.

In the Women’s Super League, Manchester United securedtheir place in next season’s Champions League after a 2-2 draw against Manchester City. Ella Toone and Millie featuredin the derby match at Old Trafford. 

Issy Hobson side earned the local bragging rights in Merseyside, after Everton beat Taylor Hinds’ Liverpool 2-0 at Anfield.

Also in the WSL, Hannah Cain scored for Leicester City in the 2-2 draw at Crystal Palace. #FullNinetyFamily
