Morecambe’s quest for League Two survival received a boost when they beat Cheltenham Town 2-0. Defensive stalwart Jamie Stott guided his side to a pivotal clean sheet.

England Women top Nations League A Group 3 following the 5-0 rout of Belgium at Ashton Gate. Ella Toone featured for ‘The Lionesses’ while Mille Turner was an unused substitute.

Hannah Cain (Wales) and Kirsty Smith (Scotland) collected further international caps in the Women’s Nations League although their respective countries suffered defeats.

Hibernian pulled off a sensational 2-0 win against Glasgow giants Rangers at Ibrox in the SPL. Martin Boyle scored the winning goal with his 16th strike of a brilliant campaign.

In the EFL Championship, there were disappointing defeats for Tyrese Campbell’s Sheffield United and Liam Kitching’s Coventry City.

Wrexham struck a heavy blow in the League One promotion fight. Elliot Lee’s men won 3-0 against Burton Albion at the Racecourse Ground to stay in second place.

Gethin Jones stepped off the Bolton substitute’s bench to supply the winning assist at the Community Stadium. Aaron Morley also featured in Wanderers’ 1-0 victory against Bristol Rovers.

Davis Keillor-Dunn grabbed an equalising goal at League One leaders Birmingham City. Playing with 10 men for most of the game, ‘The Tykes’ slipped to a heavy 6-2 defeat at St Andrew’s.
