Monday

Elliot Lee’s Wrexham suffered a setback in their quest for League One promotion. They lost 3-1 at Birmingham City but still occupied top spot heading into the weekend.

Tuesday

Josh Earl played in front of a packed Old Trafford in the Carabao Cup Third Round, but was ultimately left disappointed after his Barnsley side lost 7-0 against Manchester United. 

Friday

Tom Grivosti’s St Patrick’s Athletic recorded a comprehensive 3-0 home win against Waterford in the League of Ireland. 

Saturday

In Manchester United Women’s opening WSL fixture; Old Trafford paid an emotional tribute to the late Nick Toone. Nick was a much loved member of our FullNinety Family and will be sorely missed. The Red Devils got off to a perfect start, beating West Ham United 3-0 at Old Trafford. Ella gave a performance her Dad would have been proud of.

In what was a Man of the Match performance; Harry Souttar marshalled the Sheffield United defence to a match winning clean sheet in the 1-0 success against Derby County at Bramall Lane. The Blades occupy 4th spot in the EFL Championship table.

Callum Lang’s display at Turf Moor was rewarded with a goal for Portsmouth. However, his side slipped to a late 2-1 loss against Burnley.

Striker Ronan Hale was on target for Ross County in the 3-3 draw with St Johnstone in the SPL.

Exeter City beat Stevenage Borough 3-0 in League One, with midfielder Ed Francis scoring the opening goal in Devon. 

Josh Earl and Davis Keillor-Dunn featured in Barnsley’s 2-1 away victory at Burton Albion. The South Yorkshire outfit move up to 3rd place in League One. 

Wrexham’s star man Elliot Lee opened the scoring at the Racecourse Ground, to send his team onwards to a 2-1 win against Crawley Town. Ronan Darcy and Toby Mullarkey return South without anything to show for their efforts. 

Aaron Morley’s loan signing is proving to be a shrewd piece of business for Wycombe Wanderers. His display set the tone for a 2-1 win against Cambridge United in League One.

In the National League; Dion Pereira, Jack Evans and Josh Lundstram all recorded narrow 1-0 victories for their respective Dagenham & Redbridge, Halifax Town and Oldham Athletic sides. 

Sunday

Bethany England stepped off the Tottenham substitute’s bench to supply an assist in Spurs’ 4-0 win against Crystal Palace in the FA Women’s Super League.

Also in the WSL; Taylor Hinds captained Liverpool to an opening day draw with Leicester City at the St Helens Stadium (1-1). #FullNinetyFamily
