Australia welcomed Indonesia to Sydney for their FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifying match. Hibernian star man Martin Boyle dispatched a clinical penalty-kick for the opening goal with ‘The Socceroos’ recording an emphatic 5-1 victory. The win further cements their second place position in AFC Group C. 

Saturday 

Lizzie Arnot celebrated with Rangers after winning the Scottish League Cup. The Glasgow giants beat Hibernian 3-0 at Fir Park to record a hat-trick of cup wins. 

Wrexham came out on top in the day’s key promotion clash in League One. Elliot Lee’s men edged out Stockport County 1-0 and open up a 3 point gap on third place Wycombe. 

An added time goal rescued a point for Barnsley against Cambridge United. Davis Keillor-Dunn completed another influential 90 minutes at Oakwell.

Also in League One, Toby Mullarkey marshalled the Crawley Town defence to a clean sheet in their close 1-0 win over Bristol Rovers. 

Ed Francis’ Exeter City ground out a useful point following the goalless draw at Lincoln City in League One. 

Although not finding the target this week, Aribim Pepple continues to impress while on loan at Chesterfield. ‘The Spireites’ drew 0-0 against visitors Harrogate Town. 

Sunday 

In the Women’s Super League, Manchester United cruised to victory away at Aston Villa. The comfortable 4-0 win featured Lionesses Ella Toone and Mille Turner.

West Ham United beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-0, with Scotland’s Kirsty Smith making a second half substitute appearance.

Hannah Cain made her mark for Leicester City with a POTM performance and supplying an assist in the 3-2 victory against Brighton & Hove Albion in the WSL. #FullNinetyFamily
