Martin Boyle’s Australia took another step towards the FIFA World Cup 2026 by beating China in AFC Group C. ‘The Socceroos’ won 2-0 in Hangzhou and take maximum points from the March qualifiers. 

Altrincham were held to a 1-1 draw by Solihull Moors in the National League. Tylor Golden completed 90 minutes of action for ‘The Robins’.

It was that man again Tyrese Campbell who scored the decisive goal in Sheffield United’s win against Coventry City at Bramall Lane. The 3-1 victory propelled ‘The Blades’ to the top of the EFL Championship as we enter the business end of the season. 

Two late goals turned around the match for St Patrick’s Athletic in the League of Ireland. Tom Grivosti’s men beat Waterford 2-1 to head the table.

Saturday

Hibernian’s 3-0 win against St Johnstone in the SPL maintains their charge for European football next season. Captain and talisman Martin Boyle continued his brilliant form with another goal. 

Davis Keillor-Dunn’s wonderful free-kick opened the scoring for Barnsley at the Brick Community Stadium. They were pegged back when chief creator Jonny Smith supplied a second half assist for Wigan Athletic (1-1). Ronan Darcy and Scott Smith made up a quartet of FullNinety players on display.

Wrexham won 2-0 at Exeter City in League One, where Elliot Lee and Ed Francis made late substitute appearances.

Aaron Morley’s assist was the only consolation for Bolton Wanderers who slipped to a 2-1 defeat at Blackpool. 

Crawley Town picked up a crucial three points in their quest for League One survival. Key defender Toby Mullarkey guided his side to a clean sheet in the comprehensive 4-0 win at Rotherham United.

Aribim Pepple’s Chesterfield took the spoils thanks to a hard earned 1-0 win at Barrow in League Two.

Morecambe edged out Swindon Town 1-0 at the MazumaStadium with Jamie Stott completing an influential 90 minutes of action.

Sunday

In the WSL, Ella Toone’s Manchester United saw off Everton with a 2-0 win at Leigh Sports Village. The victory sees United move closer to Champions League qualification.

Rehanne Skinner’s West Ham United earned a very credible 2-2 draw away at unbeaten league leader’s Chelsea.

Hannah Cain and Ashleigh Neville both featured in the WSL match at the King Power Stadium, where Leicester City drew 1-1 with Tottenham Hotspur. #FullNinetyFamily
