Tuesday

Two late goals earned Sheffield United another 3 points in their quest to return to the Premier League. Harry Souttar and Tyrese Campbell featured in the 2-1 victory at Bristol City.

Callum Lang’s Portsmouth failed to capitalise on their first half dominance and slipped to a 1-0 defeat at Plymouth Argyle. 

Aaron Morley capped his fine display with the winning goal at Edgeley Park. His Wycombe Wanderers side stormed to the top of League One with a thumping 5-0 away win at Stockport County.

Ronan Darcy captained Crawley in their goalless draw at Burton Albion. Toby Mullarkey completed 90 minutes for Town at the Pirelli Stadium.

Friday

Josh Earl and Davis Keillor-Dunn guided Barnsley to victory in the South Yorkshire derby at Oakwell. The Tykes beat Rotherham United 2-0 and move into the League One play-off places.

Saturday

Star man Callum Lang claimed an assist and won a decisive penalty-kick in Portsmouth’s moral boosting 3-1 home win against Preston North End in the EFL Championship.

Liam Kitching was recalled to the Coventry starting line up at The Stadium of Light. City came from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Championship leaders Sunderland.

Martin Boyle and Ronan Hale were left disappointed in the SPL. Their respective Hibernian and Ross County sides both suffered defeats. 

An early goal at the Racecourse Ground proved to be the difference for Elliot Lee’s Wrexham. The Red Dragons beat fellow League One promotion hopefuls Mansfield Town 1-0.

Former Manchester City academy graduate Ed Francis free-kick delivery supplied the winning assist in Exeter City’s 1-0 home victory against Charlton Athletic. 

Aaron Morley’s Wycombe Wanderers made it seven wins in succession (all competitions) and top League One following the 1-0 win at Wigan Athletic. 

Ronan Darcy’s two assists earned Crawley Town a 2-2 draw against Huddersfield Town. Toby Mullarkey completed 90 minutes in defence at the Broadfield Stadium. 

Jamie Lindsay’s Bristol Rovers were held to a 1-1 draw against Lincoln City at the Memorial Stadium in League One.

Morecambe secured a priceless win in the battle to maintaintheir League Two status. Ben Tollitt supplied an assist and Jamie Stott captained ‘The Shrimps’ to a 2-1 win at Harrogate Town.

In the National League; Dion Pereira featured in Dagenham & Redbridge’s 1-1 draw at Boston United, while Josh Lundstram’s Oldham Athletic played out a goalless draw at Barnet.

Sunday

Tyrese Campbell’s clinical 50th minute strike won the Sheffield derby at Bramall Lane. Harry Souttar was named ‘Player of the Match’ as he marshalled his defence to another clean sheet as United beat Wednesday 1-0, to stay joint top of the EFL Championship. 

Manchester United were unable to break down a stubborn Aston Villa at Leigh Sports Village. Lioness Ella Toone and Mille Turner had to be content with a goalless draw in the evening WSL match.

In the Women’s Championship; Georgia Brougham scored a consolation goal for London City Lionesses in their 2-1 loss against Birmingham City. 

Fran Stenson and Tara Bourne both made 90 minute appearances for Southampton in the 1-1 draw with Durham. 

Theo Sander made his long awaited Superliga debut for FC Copenhagen in the top of the table clash against AGF. The game finished 1-1 with Theo being named ‘Player of the Match’. #FullNinetyFamily
