Elliot Lee’s introduction from the substitute’s bench helped secure a 1-0 win for Wrexham against Crewe Alexandra in the EFL Trophy.

Bolton Wanderers also progress to the 3rd round after they beat Huddersfield Town 3-1. Gethin Jones completed another 90 minutes of action. 

In the National League; Jack Evans’ Halifax Town (0-0) and Tylor Golden’s Altrincham (3-3) both collected a useful pointas they hover just outside the play-off places. 

Wednesday 

Sheffield United welcomed Harry Souttar back into the starting line up following suspension, with the Australian international orchestrating another clean sheet. The Blades edged out Millwall 1-0 and top the EFL Championship league table. 

Taylor Hinds’ Liverpool came out on top in the Continental Cup derby match against Everton with a 4-0 victory. Ellie Jones made her debut for The Toffees, while Issy Hobson gained more first team experience. 

Also in cup action was Millie Turner, who’s Manchester United beat Newcastle 5-3. The Red Devils, along with North West rivals Liverpool qualify for the knockout stages. 

Kirsty Smith and Emma Harries featured for West Ham in their 3-0 win against Tara Bourne’s Southampton. United finish as Group C winners, while The Saints exit the competition.

Tottenham Hotspur also progress into the knockout stages of the Continental Cup thanks to a 2-0 win at Crystal Palace.Bethany England, Ashleigh Neville and Chloe Arthur were all on display at Gander Green Lane.

Thursday

The New Saints faced Panathinaikos in the Europa Conference League, with a trio of FullNinety players on display. Declan McManus, Dan Williams and Ben Clark all featured in the spirited 2-0 defeat. 

Friday

Callum Lang’s Portsmouth suffered a setback in their quest for EFL Championship survival. Pompey lost 4-0 at Derby County, where Tom Barkhuizen was an unused substitute.

Saturday

Harry Souttar’s Sheffield United extended their lead to 3 points at the top of the EFL Championship. The Blades saw off the challenge of Plymouth Argyle by winning 2-0 at Bramall Lane.

In the Scottish Premier League; Hibernian beat Ross County 3-1, with Martin Boyle and Ronan Hale making substitute appearances at Easter Road.

Welsh international Hannah Cain featured for Leicester Cityin the Women’s Super League. The Foxes earned a deserved 1-1 draw against table toppers Chelsea at the King Power Stadium. 

Jonny Smith and Scott Smith celebrated local derby success with Wigan Athletic. Their side beat Gethin Jones’ Bolton Wanderers 2-0 in League One.

Central midfield loan star Aaron Morley guided Wycombe to a thumping 4-1 win at Shrewsbury Town. Wanderers moved clear at the top of League One after Elliot Lee’s Wrexham were held to a 2-2 draw against Cambridge United.

Davis Keillor-Dunn struck the winning goal for Barnsley at Exeter City. After trailing at the interval, The Tykes turned the game around and won 2-1 against Ed Francis’ men in League One.

Ronan Darcy’s assist was the only consolation after Crawley Town lost 4-3 at Peterborough United.

Dion Pereira supplied the winning assist for Dagenham & Redbridge in their National League match against Rochdale at Victoria Road (1-0).

Altrincham had Tylor Golden to thank for the victory against Sutton United at Moss Lane. Tylor claimed the assist in the narrow 1-0 win, which moves his side into a play-off position.

Jack Evans’s Halifax Town came out on top in a seven goal thriller against Aldershot Town. The Yorkshire outfit won 4-3and sit outside the National League play-off places only on goal difference. 

Oldham Athletic reinforced their fifth tier promotion bid after turning around a two goal deficit. Josh Lundstram’s side won 3-2 against Wealdstone at Boundary Park.

Sunday

Manchester United beat Crystal Palace 1-0 in the WSL. Millie Turner marshalled her defence to a match winning clean sheet in South London.

Also in the WSL; Taylor Hinds’ Liverpool suffered a narrow 1-0 loss against fancied side Arsenal. 

Georgia Brougham’s London City Lionesses continued their push for promotion from the Women’s Championship. They beat Southampton 3-1 to leave Tara Bourne and Fran Stenson disappointed. #FullNinetyFamily
