Callum Lang’s Portsmouth dug out a vital win in their quest for EFL Championship survival. 20 year old defender Hayden Matthews continued his development with another confident substitute appearance in the 2-1 win against Cardiff City.

Liam Kitching captained Coventry City to a late win against Queens Park Rangers. ‘The Sky Blues’ won 1-0 and edge closer to the Championship play-off places.

Exeter City pushed Nottingham Forest all the way to a penalty shootout in the FA Cup 4th Round. Ed Francis gave another influential midfield display in the 2-2 draw, with the Premier League high flyers winning 4-2 on spot kicks. 

Wrexham reached the EFL Trophy semi-finals after a close 1-0 victory against Bolton Wanderers. Elliot Lee and Gethin Jones both featured at the Racecourse Ground.

Josh Lundstram’s late goal rescued a point for Oldham Athletic against Tylor Golden’s Altrincham. The 2-2 draw sees both clubs maintain their spot in the play-off places.

Wednesday

Tyrese Campbell’s half time introduction helped turn the game in Sheffield United’s favour at Bramall Lane. ‘The Blades’ went on to beat Middlesbrough 3-1 in the EFL Championship. 

Saturday 

Tyrese Campbell’s Sheffield United collected another vital 3 points in their quest for Premier League football. They won 1-0 at Luton Town and top the Championship table. 

Portsmouth battled their way to a second victory of the week in the EFL Championship. They won 2-0 at Oxford Unitedwith Hayden Matthews making a hugely impressive 90 minutes display. The result was marred slightly by a worrying injury to Callum Lang. 

Coventry City won 2-1 against Sheffield Wednesday and are only 1 point away from the Championship play-off places. Liam Kitching continued his rich vein of form at Hillsborough. 

A Ronan Hale double earned the points for Ross County in the SPL. ‘The Staggies’ won 3-0 at Motherwell to edge away from relegation trouble. 

Bolton Wanderers came from behind to win 3-2 away at Shrewsbury Town. Aaron Morley and Gethin Jones both completed 90 minutes of action in Shropshire. 

Ed Francis’ Exeter City followed up their midweek heroics with a tight 1-0 win at Cambridge United. 

In the National League, Halifax Town and Altrincham recorded narrow 1-0 victories which reinforces their play-off spots. Jack Evans and Tylor Golden are proving to be indispensable for their respective clubs. 

Sunday

Martin Boyle’s Hibernian struggled to break down a resolute St Mirren in the SPL. The goalless draw sees Hibs consolidate their 5th place position in the league table.

Ella Toone struck the winning goal for Manchester United in their WSL match at Leigh Sports Village. Fellow lioness Millie Turner also featured in the 3-1 victory over Crystal Palace. 

Kirsty Smith completed 90 minutes in West Ham United’s 3-1 win against Brighton & Hove Albion. Emma Harries made a 20 minute substitute cameo at Victoria Road. #FullNinetyFamily
