Tuesday

20 year old Australian international defender Hayden Matthews made a successful debut for Portsmouth in the EFL Championship, along side fellow FullNinety client Callum Lang. Pompey slipped to a narrow 1-0 loss against Millwall at Fratton Park.

Elliot Lee’s late assist proved to be only a consolation for Wrexham. They lost 3-2 against Stevenage Borough in League One.

Aaron Morley supplied an early assist which sent Bolton on the way to a 3-1 home success over Northampton Town. Gethin Jones also featured for Wanderers in the League One win.

Despite Ed Francis’ assist Exeter City slumped to a disappointing 6-2 defeat against Leyton Orient.

Chesterfield recorded a 3-0 home win in League Two. Aribim Pepple’s side beat Bromley 3-0 and edge into the top half of the table.

Wednesday 

Liverpool coasted into the 5th round of the Women’s FA Cup thanks to a 5-0 victory against West Ham United. Lucy Parry scored her first senior goal, while Taylor Hinds captained the side.

Saturday 

Sheffield United reinforced their automatic promotion hopes with a 1-0 win at Derby County. Tyrese Campbell and Tom Barkhuizen made appearances off the bench in the Championship match at Pride Park.

Liam Kitching has become a mainstay in the Coventry defence since regaining his place in the starting XI. City won 2-0 at Swansea. 

Also in the EFL Championship, Callum Lang’s Portsmouth battled to a goalless draw with high flying Burnley. Hayden Matthews made a substitute appearance for Pompey as they looked to sure up the back line. 

In the Scottish Premier League, Hibernian extended their terrific run of form with another victory. Martin Boyle captained his side to a 2-0 win against Aberdeen at Easter Road.

Wrexham talisman Elliot Lee scored a dramatic added time winner at Crawley Town. The 2-1 win closes the gap on second place Wycombe to 4 points.

Barnsley couldn’t break down a stubborn Burton Albion side at Oakwell. Josh Earl and Davis Keillor-Dunn featured for ‘The Tykes’ in League One.

Jonny Smith scored his fifth goal of the season with a clinical finish for Wigan Athletic in the 1-1 draw against Lincoln City 

Jamie Stott captained Morecambe to a much needed win in League Two. ‘The Shrimps’ beat local rivals Fleetwood Town 4-2 at the Mazuma Stadium.

Josh Lundstram’s Oldham Athletic came from a goal behind to claim a 2-1 win at AFC Fylde. 

Also in the National League Jack Evans early assist propelled Halifax Town to a 2-0 win over Ebbsfleet at The Shay Stadium. 

Sunday

In the Women’s Super League Liverpool beat West Ham United 1-0. Taylor Hinds and Lucy Parry both made appearances for the victors at the St Helens Stadium. 

Fran Stenson and Tara Bourne featured in the Women’s Championship as Southampton drew 2-2 against Newcastle United. 

Also collecting a point was 17 year old Issy Hobson (1-1 v Durham) who is gaining first team experience while on loan at Sheffield United from Everton.

The final match of another packed weekend saw Manchester United defeat Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 in the WSL. A FullNinety quartet of Ella Toone, Millie Turner, Bethany England and Ashleigh Neville all made the starting line ups for their respective clubs. #FullNinetyFamily
