Coventry City also earned themselves an impressive win away from home. Liam Kitching’s men beat Blackburn Rovers 2-1 at Ewood Park.
In League One; Ed Francis again proved to be the cornerstone for Exeter City in their 1-1 draw at Peterborough United.
Wednesday
Portsmouth star man Callum Lang scored his 10th EFL Championship goal of the season, and won a penalty kick in the 3-1 win against Stoke City at Fratton Park.
Defender Millie Turner scored for Manchester United in their Continental Cup match against Manchester City. Ella Toone made a late substitute appearance in the narrow 2-1 loss.
Kirsty Smith’s goal propelled West Ham United into the Subway Cup semi-finals. Teammate Emma Harries claimed an assist in the 2-1 victory against Tottenham Hotspur, who had Bethany England and Ashleigh Neville on show.
Thursday
Wrexham drew 1-1 with Birmingham City in the League One top of the table clash. Elliot Lee featured for the Red Dragons at the Racecourse Ground.
Friday
Sheffield United suffered a set back in their quest for an immediate return to the Premier League. Hull City pulled off a shock 3-0 win at Bramall Lane. Tyrese Campbell was desperately unfortunate to have a goal chalked for offside.
Saturday
Coventry held off Watford’s late rally to secure a 2-1 win in the EFL Championship. Liam Kitching’s unfortunate own goal didn’t take the shine off a winning afternoon for City.
Ronan Hale’s 88th minute penalty kick earned a point for Ross County in the SPL. The 1-1 draw extends the unbeaten run of Martin Boyle’s Hibernian.
Bolton Wanderers got back to winning ways in League One. Gethin Jones and Aaron Morley both completed 90 minutes in the 1-0 success at Huddersfield Town.
Jonny Smith’s clinical finish was the highlight in Wigan Athletic’s 2-0 win against Bristol Rovers. Scott Smith gave another solid showing at the Brick Community Stadium.
In League Two; Aribim Pepple’s Chesterfield battled to a 1-1 draw with Port Vale, after trailing for most of the game.
Jack Evans’ Halifax continued their push to reach the National League play off places. Town won 2-0 away at Solihull Moors.
Also in the fifth tier; there were 1-1 draws for Josh Lundstram’s Oldham Athletic and Tylor Golden’s Altrincham.
Sunday
Ashleigh Neville supplied an assist for Bethany England’s opening goal, with the Spurs captain scoring a first half double. Tottenham went on to beat Crystal Palace 3-2 in the Women’s Super League. Bethany becomes for the first ever player to have scored against every team that has played in the WSL
Also in the WSL; Hannah Cain’s Leicester City came from behind to beat Taylor Hinds’ Liverpool 2-1 at the King PowerStadium.
Manchester United beat Brighton & Hove Albion 3-0 at Leigh Sports Village and move up to 2nd place in the WSL table. Ella Toone scored an early goal, while fellow lioness Millie Turner marshalled the defence to a clean sheet. #FullNinetyFamily
