England Women kicked off their 2028 World Cup Qualifying campaign by hammering Ukraine 6-1 in Antalya. Arsenal’s Taylor Hinds featured in the Lionesses’ starting XI.

Hannah Cain scored and collected the ‘Player of the Match’ award for Wales in their opening fixture of World Cup Qualifying. They returned from the Czech Republic with a credible point following a 2-2 draw.

Scotland also enjoyed a convincing victory in qualifying. Emma Lawton’s side beat Luxembourg 5-0 at the Stade Émile Mayrisch.

Aaron Morley scored the only goal of the game as Wycombe won 1-0 at Barnsley. The result pushes Wanderers into the League One play-off places.

Ryan Delaney’s Newport earned a much needed win in League Two. The 3-1 victory against Tranmere Rovers hauls County out of the relegation zone.

Preston North End’s miserable run took another turn at Deepdale, where Callum Lang’s men lost 3-1 against Oxford United.

19 year old Harry Ashfield continued his development by making another appearance for loan club Cheltenham Town. His side drew 2-2 against Tom Barkhuizen’s Barrow.

Saturday

Liam Kitching’s Coventry edge closer to the Premier League after another victory. City won 2-0 at Bristol City to maintain their lead at the summit of the EFL Championship.

Portsmouth returned from Blackburn Rovers with a useful 1-1 draw as they edge towards EFL Championship safety. Zac Swanson starred for ‘Pompey’ at Ewood Park.

A late equaliser denied Tyrese Campbell’s Sheffield United the victory against West Bromwich Albion at Bramall Lane (1-1).

The Lionesses made it two wins from two in their World Cup qualifying campaign. Arsenal’s Taylor Hinds completed an influential 90 minutes for England in the 2-0 victory against Iceland at The City Ground.

Hannah Cain was the toast of Wales after she scored a clinical brace and supplied an assist in the 6-1 mauling of Montenegro in Llanelli. Hannah also picked up her second ‘Player of the Match’ award of an incredible week.

Scotland welcomed midweek opponents Luxembourg to Hampden Park. Emma Lawton scored one and claimed an assist, while Leah Eddie also provided an assist in the 7-0 win.

Lincoln City made a huge statement in the race for the Championship football. Defensive stalwart Tom Hamer inspired a 2-0 victory against Cardiff City with ‘The Imps’ leapfrogging their opponents into top spot.

Elliot Lee’s spectacular strike opened the scoring for Doncaster in League One. Sadly Rovers relinquished their lead, losing 2-1 at Plymouth Argyle.

In League Two, Tom Pearce’s brilliant free-kick was the highlight for Chesterfield in the 3-2 defeat by Shrewsbury Town.

MK Dons came from behind to smash Harrogate Town 4-1. Gethin Jones’ men move up to second place in League Two. #FullNinetyFamily
