Monday

Halifax Town celebrated a 2-0 away win at Scunthorpe United. Centre-back Jamie Stott continues to impress for his new club.

Toby Mullarkey’s first half poacher’s finish wasn’t enough for Altrincham in the National League. They slipped to a 2-1 defeat at Moss Lane. 

Oldham Athletic had to settle for a point at York City following a 1-1 draw. Ben Tollitt completed the 90 minutes for the Greater Manchester club. 

Centre forward Aaron Holloway opened the scoring for new club Hereford at Edgar Street. Disappointingly, their National League North fixture ended in a 3-1 defeat to Gloucester City. 

Tuesday 

Elliot Lee’s Wrexham moved up to second place in the National League thanks to a 3-1 win at the Racecourse Ground.

The New Saints came away from Aberystwyth Town with a 2-0 win. The reigning Welsh champions had Declan McManus to thank after his wonderful 25 yard strike sealed victory. 

Wednesday 

Tyrese Campbell’s second half introduction rescued a point for Stoke City in the EFL Championship. He scored a 90thminute equaliser at the Bet365 Stadium in the 1-1 draw with Swansea City. 

Friday

Liverpool born Tom Grivosti led his side to victory in the Irish Premier Division. St Patrick’s Athletic beat Finn Harps 2-1 at Richmond Park.

Saturday

Congratulations to Ella Toone and Bethany England who will play in next year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup. The Lionesses confirmed their place at Australia and New Zealand thanks to a 2-0 win in Austria.

Australian international Martin Boyle gave a ‘Man of the Match’ performance at Easter Road. Hibs dug deep to seal a 1-0 win against Kilmarnock despite playing with 10 men for 80 minutes.

Wigan Athletic had Callum Lang to thank for their impressive 2-1 away win at Luton Town. He scored with a deflected strike and assisted the winner in the EFL Championship.

Jamie Lindsay’s Rotherham United continued their great start to the campaign. They drew 1-1 with Watford at the New York Stadium. 

In League One; there was a 3-1 win for Gethin Jones’ Bolton Wanderers and a 2-0 success for Liam Kitching’s Barnsley.

Dion Pereira made a second half appearance at Valley Parade following his deadline day loan move to Bradford. City held off a late Walsall rally to win 2-1.

Also in League Two; Luke Bolton featured for Salford City who drew 2-2 with Crawley Town at the Peninsula Stadium.

Ronan Darcy was introduced in the second period for Swindon Town during the goalless draw at Gillingham.

Declan McManus dispatched a 29th minute penalty for The New Saints in the Welsh Premier League. They beat Pontypridd United 2-0.

Elliot Lee scored Wrexham’s 5th goal in the 5-0 away demolition of Dorking. The Welsh side occupy 2nd place in the National League, just one point ahead of Ed Francis’ Notts County who smashed Dagenham & Redbridge 5-0.

Jamie Stott’s Halifax had to settle for a point after the 1-1 draw at Maidenhead United.

Winger Ryan McLean was on the scoresheet for Hereford during the 1-1 draw at Alfreton.

Sunday
