Monday 

Liam Kitching made a starting appearance for Coventry City in the EFL Championship. Despite his impressive display, they lost 2-0 at home against West Bromwich Albion.

Tuesday

Ella Toone made a substitute appearance for England in the Nation’s League. The Lionesses suffered defeat, losing 3-2 in Belgium.

Also stepping off the bench was ‘Socceroo’ Martin Boyle. His Hibernian side drew 2-2 with Ross County in the SPL.

Tom Barkhuizen supplied an assist for Derby in League Two. County thrashed Northampton Town 4-0 at Pride Park.

Wednesday 

Fleetwood Town rescued a point after a rollercoaster of a local derby match in League One. Josh Earl’s men scored a late equaliser to grab a 3-3 draw with Blackpool at Highbury.

Saturday 

Liam Kitching completed another 90 minutes of EFL Championship action for Coventry City. His side lost narrowly 3-3 away at Preston North End.

Bolton Wanderers cruised into the FA Cup second round after crushing Solihull Moors 4-0. Ace midfielder Aaron Morley supplied two assists, while Gethin Jones also featured in the victory.

Tranmere Rovers exit the FA Cup after a 4-3 defeat at Stevenage Borough. Dan Pike gave a great account of himself at left-back.

Also suffering cup heartbreak was Ed Francis’ Gateshead. Despite their late rally they lost 3-2 at Yeovil Town.

The evening kick-off saw Wrexham travel to Mansfield Town with Elliot Lee continuing his excellent form. The Welsh outfit won 2-1 to progress into the FA Cup second round.

Sunday

Josh Earl rescued Fleetwood Town from a potential cup shock at Kidderminster. He scored the equalising goal and provided the winning assist in the 2-1 victory. Ryan McLean claimed the assist for Harriers.

Taylor Hinds’ Liverpool held off Hannah Cain’s Leicester City to record a 2-1 win in the WSL.

Tottenham Hotspur drew 1-1 with Everton. Kit Graham made a substitute appearance for the Londoners, while Emma Bissell got a run out for ‘The Toffees’.
