Coventry City had to settle for a point at Deepdale, where Liam Kitching’s side drew 1-1 against Preston North End.

Also in the EFL Championship, Tyrese Campbell’s Sheffield United were held to a 1-1 draw against Norwich City at Bramall Lane.

Arsenal secured their place in the knockout stages of the Women’s Champions League after Taylor Hinds’ side beat Twente 1-0 at Meadow Park.

In League One, Davis Keillor-Dunn scored his 12th goal of the season, although Tom Hamer had the last laugh with Lincoln City winning 3-1 at Sincil Bank.

Fleetwood Town came from behind to carve out a result at Highbury. Toby Mullarkey completed 90 minutes in the 1-1 draw against Salford City.

Farrend Rawson came out on top for Accrington Stanley in his battle with Jack Evans’ Harrogate Town, winning 2-0 win at Wetherby Road.

Ella Toone’s Manchester United suffered a chastening night in their Champions League match against Lyon, losing 3-0 at Leigh Sports Village.

Thursday

21 year old full-back Lucy Parry made a starting appearance for Liverpool in the WSL, with ‘The Reds’ slipping to a 3-0 defeat at Aston Villa.

Friday

Sheffield United’s unbeaten run came to an unexpected end at The Hawthorns. Tyrese Campbell’s side lost 2-0 against West Bromwich Albion.

Saturday

Coventry City carved out another 3 points in the race for Premier League football. Liam Kitching was a key performer in the 1-0 victory against Bristol City at the CBS Arena.

Portsmouth secured a crucial win in the EFL Championship. Callum Lang scored a second half equalising goal, while defenders Hayden Matthews and Zak Swanson made solid contributions in the 2-1 success against Blackburn Rovers at Fratton Park.

Man on fire Davis Keillor-Dunn scored his 13th goal of the season, which proved to be the winner in Barnsley’s 3-2 home victory against Leyton Orient.

Lincoln City stay firmly in the League One automatic promotion race. Tom Hamer featured in the 2-2 draw at Blackpool.

Dion Pereira’s late assist rescued a point for Crawley Town in League Two, following the 2-2 draw with Oldham Athletic.

Gethin Jones completed 90 minutes of action for MK Dons in the 1-1 draw with Cambridge United.

Welsh international Hannah Cain featured in Leicester City’s 1-0 win against London City at the King Power Stadium.
