Tuesday

Bolton Wanderers secured their place in the knockout stages of the Papa John’s Trophy after winning Northern Group B. Aaron Morley’s men beat Portsmouth 1-0, while Gethin Jones sat out the victory with an injury.

Wrexham made it 16 straight wins (in all competitions) at the Racecourse Ground thanks to a hard fought 2-1 win against Bromley. Elliot Lee continues to impress for the National League promotion hopefuls.

The New Saints demolished Flint Town United 8-1 away from home to move 13 points clear at the top of the Welsh Premier League. Goal machine Declan McManus scored an incredible 4 goals while teammate Ben Clark also got himself on the scoresheet.

Hereford are edging up the National League North table following a 2-0 home win over Farsley Celtic. Aaron Holloway, Jack Evans and Ryan McLean again set the platform for ‘The Bulls’.

Wednesday

Kirstie Levell, Abbie McManus and Hannah Cain lined up for Leicester City in Group B of the Conti Cup. ‘The Foxes’ went on to thrash Sunderland 5-0 after dominating proceedings.

Friday

Heart of Midlothian’s chief creator Barrie McKay scored with a sublime finish from the edge of the box in the first half. It proved to be the difference at Tynecastle Park as Hearts beat St Mirren 1-0 to move 6 points clear of Aberdeen in the SPL.

Toby Mullarkey struck the winning penalty in the FA Trophy 4th Round clash with Wrexham. Following a tense 2-2 draw and goalless extra-time, Altrincham edged the shoot-out 4-3.

Saturday

Bethany England opened her goal scoring account for new club Tottenham Hotspur. The Lioness left Aston Villa disappointed though after Spurs slipped to a 2-1 defeat.

Jamie Lindsay got a late run-out for Rotherham United who trounced Blackburn Rovers 4-0 at the New York Stadium.

Just down the road Stoke City visited Sheffield United in the EFL Championship. Harry Souttar completed 90 minutes while Tyrese Campbell made a late cameo. United had to battle for their 3-1 victory.

Wigan Athletic rescued a point thanks to a stoppage time equaliser. Callum Lang’s men drew 1-1 at Cardiff City.

Aaron Morley pulled the strings in midfield for Bolton Wanderers who beat Portsmouth 3-0 in League One.

In League Two; Salford City climbed up to 5th place after beating Sutton United 2-0. Luke Bolton featured at the Peninsula Stadium.

Ronan Darcy scored within a minute of his second half introduction as Swindon Town hammered Grimsby Town 5-0. The Wiltshire outfit move into the League Two playoff places.

Free scoring TNS were at it again at Park Hall. This time they put Newtown to the sword in the Welsh Cup. Ben Clark grabbed a brace and Declan McManus added to his tally with a goal in the 7-0 mauling.

Sunday

The WSL was back in full swing following their winter break. Manchester United faced Liverpool in the big game. Ella Toone starred for ‘The Red Devils’ and laid on two assists in the 6-0 drubbing, while Taylor Hinds started for ‘The Reds’.

Faye Bryson supplied an assist for Reading at Everton, but her side lost narrowly 3-2.

Hannah Cain was part of Leicester City’s successful afternoon’s work. They beat Brighton 3-0.

The FA Trophy tie at Meadow Lane went all the way to sudden death penalties as Notts County drew 2-2 with Maidstone United. Ed Francis completed 90 minutes and confidently dispatched his spot-kick. County exit the competition after losing 6-5 in the shootout. #FullNinetyFamily
