A huge congratulations to Heart of Midlothian winger Barrie McKay who has won the SPFL Goal of the Month award for his strike against St Mirren 13th January at Tynecastle Park.

Tuesday

Bolton Wanderers made it five consecutive League One wins with a 5-0 home hammering of visitors MK Dons. Gethin Jones scored with a clinical finish while Aaron Morley ran the show in midfield.

Liam Kitching’s far post header restored Barnsley’s first half lead against Port Vale. ‘The Tykes’ went on to win 3-1 and haul themselves back into the League One play-off places.

Salford City had to settle for a point following their 1-1 draw with Harrogate Town. Luke Bolton completed 90 minutes at the Peninsula Stadium.

In the National League; Elliot Lee’s Wrexham drew 2-2 with Woking and Ben Tollitt’s Oldham also finished honours even with a 2-2 draw against Gateshead.

Wednesday

Stoke City beat Huddersfield Town with a convincing 3-0 scoreline in the EFL Championship with Tyrese Campbell featuring at the Bet365 Stadium.

Callum Lang’s half time introduction helped Wigan Athletic extend their unbeaten run to 3 games. They came from behind to draw 1-1 at Bristol City.

Thursday

European Champions England faced South Korea at Stadium MK in the Arnold Clark Cup. Manchester United forward Ella Toone starred for the Lionesses in the 4-0 victory.

Saturday

Callum Lang produced another excellent performance for Wigan as they extended their unbeaten run to 4 games. Athletic drew 0-0 with Norwich City in the EFL Championship.

Tyrese Campbell left Bloomfield Road disappointed after his Stoke City side slipped to a 1-0 loss at Blackpool.

Barnsley thumped Cheltenham Town 4-0 away from home in League One. Liam Kitching capped off his display with another clean sheet.

Ronan Darcy came out on top against fellow Full Ninety player Luke Bolton at the Peninsula Stadium. Swindon Town edged out Salford City 2-1 in League Two.

A seven goal thriller at the Recreation Ground saw Wrexham continue their assault on the National League title. Elliot Lee’s men beat Aldershot 4-3 thanks to an added time winner.

Jamie Stott played 90 minutes for Halifax. They returned from Boreham Wood with a hard fought point following a 1-1 draw, with Tylor Golden getting a late run out.

Ben Tollitt featured for Oldham Athletic as they continue to ease away from relegation trouble. The Boundary Park outfit won 2-0 against Maidstone United.

Sunday

Barrie McKay couldn’t quite unlock a stubborn Motherwell defence at Fir Park. Hearts suffered a 2-0 loss in the SPL but stay in 3rd place.

Harry Souttar took centre stage in the big Premier League game of the day. His Leicester side visited a packed Old Trafford to take on Manchester United. Disappointingly, after an impressive first 45 City returned home empty handed following a 3-0 defeat. #FullNinetyFamily
