Tuesday

Barnsley welcomed South Yorkshire rivals Sheffield Wednesday to Oakwell for the big game in League One. Broadcast live on Sky Sports, a hugely entertaining game culminated with Liam Kitching bombing forward to score an added time winning goal, which secured a 4-2 victory.

Dan Pike’s second half introduction helped AFC Fylde claim a crucial win. They beat National League North rivals King’s Lynn 1-0 to go clear 5 points clear at the top of the table.

Demark u19’s opened up their Euro qualifying group fixtures by facing Spain in Marbella. Theo Sander was once again a standout performer for the Danes in a hard earned 0-0 draw.

In a break from domestic action, Leicester City’s Premier League defender Harry Souttar headed ‘down under’ to represent the ‘Socceroos’. His Australia side beat Equador 3-1 in an international friendly fixture with our man completing the 90 minutes.

A crowd in excess of 22,000 attended the Women’s Merseyside Derby at Goodison Park. Taylor Hinds’ Liverpool came from behind to secure a credible 1-1 draw at Everton in the WSL.

Saturday

Luke Bolton’s Salford maintained their push for promotion thanks to a 3-1 win at Stevenage. City occupy 6th place in League Two with eight games left to play.

Also in League Two; Northampton Town introduced new signing David Norman Jr. as a late substitute in their 2-0 win at Doncaster Rovers.

A brace for ace marksman Declan McManus was the highlight for The New Saints who trounced Cardiff MU 7-1 at Park Hall.

A late Elliot Lee strike crowned another winning afternoon at the Racecourse Ground. Wrexham beat visitors York 3-0 and look on course to win promotion to the EFL.

Ed Francis’ Gateshead gained a crucial 3-2 win at Aldershot to boost their National League table position.

AFC Fylde solidified their position at the top of the National League North table following a 2-0 home win over Gloucester City. Dan Pike made a second half substitute appearance.

Theo Sander was able to produce yet another fine display and help Denmark u19’s win their second group match in a tough qualifying group. Denmark ended up beating Ukraine 2-1.

The evening kick-off saw Manchester United move to the top of the FA Women’s Super League. Ella Toone supplied a brilliant assist in the comprehensive 4-0 victory over West Ham United.

Earlier in the day a clinical Bethany England spot-kick proved to be only a consolation for Tottenham Hotspur, who went down 5-1 to Arsenal in the North London derby.
