Liam Kitching’s Coventry City lost 3-2 at home against Hull City, which damages their hopes of EFL  Championship play-off qualification.

Halifax travelled to Solihull Moors for their National League play-off eliminator. Jack Evans struck a first half goal for the visitors but it proved to be a consolation. Tylor Golden and Jamie Stott also suffered disappointment after Town lost 4-2. 

Saturday

Heart of Midlothian solidified third position in the SPL table,following a goalless draw at Kilmarnock. Ace winger Barrie McKay made a late substitute appearance in an attempt to unlock a stubborn defence.

Martin Boyle’s Hibernian collected the 3 points thanks to a 3-1 win at St Johnstone in the SPL.

Australian international defender Harry Souttar is heading back to the Premier League with Leicester City after results elsewhere confirmed their promotion to the top flight.

Stoke City beat Southampton at St Marys with the impressive Tyrese Campbell scoring the only goal in a 1-0 success.

Bolton Wanderers secured a third place final standing in League One and head to the play-offs. Gethin Jones and Aaron Morley’s side drew 3-3 at Peterborough United.

Callum Lang made his final appearance of a successful campaign, with League One Champions Portsmouth winning 2-0 at Lincoln City.

Tom Barkhuizen’s Derby County confirmed their automatic promotion to the EFL Championship following a 2-0 win against Carlisle United. 

Barnsley go into the League One play-offs after they drew 1-1 with Northampton Town at Oakwell. Josh Earl has been a permanent fixture in the side since his January transfer from Fleetwood Town.

Wigan Athletic concluded their season with a 2-0 home win against Bristol Rovers. Form player Jonny Smith was on target again with a stunning long range strike.

Ronan Darcy went head-to-head with Toby Mullarkey at the Broadfield Stadium. Crawley Town booked their place in the League Two play-offs after beating Grimsby Town 2-0.

Wrexham capped off their League Two promotion success with a 2-1 win against Stockport County. Elliot Lee featured at the Racecourse Ground, while Luke Bolton got a late run out.

Sunday

The Welsh Cup saw TNS face Connah’s Quay in a final that was decided by a fine strike from Josh Williams. A ‘Di Canio’ style volley clinching the trophy for ‘The Nomads’.

In the FA Women’s Super League; The early kick-off saw 16 year old Issy Hobson grab a late equaliser for Everton against Arsenal. Emma Bissell also featured for ‘The Toffees’ at Walton Hall Park.

Bethany England’s goal rescued a point for Tottenham Hotspur against Brighton. Ashleigh Neville and Kit Graham made appearances off the substitute’s bench for Spurs.

Lioness Ella Toone proved her quality by stepping off the Manchester United bench and striking a superb winning goal against Leicester City (1-0).
