Coventry opened up a 10 point gap at the summit of the EFL Championship in spectacular fashion. A six goal thriller saw City beat Middlesbrough 4-2 in the North East. Defensive lynchpin Liam Kitching took all the plaudits after scoring a match winning brace.

In the SPL, Martin Boyle’s Hibernian slipped to adisappointing 2-0 loss at Motherwell, after playing with 10 men for most of the game.

Wednesday

Zac Swanson completed a dogged 90 minutes of action for Portsmouth in the EFL Championship, although his side suffered a 3-0 loss at Sheffield United.

Leicester City’s Hannah Cain earned another international cap in Wales’ 1-1 draw against South Korea in Malaga.

Saturday

England hammered China 8-0 in the women’s international friendly match at Wembley Stadium. Manchester United star Ella Toone scored one and supplied a hat-trick of assists, while Arsenal’s Taylor Hinds made an impressive substitute appearance.
