It was a day to remember for Coventry captain Liam Kitching. His side made all the headlines in the EFL Championship after they demolished Queens Park Rangers 7-1 at the CBS Arena. The win sees City move up to third place in the league table.
Also in the EFL Championship, Tyrese Campbell was left disappointed after his Sheffield United side lost 1-0 against Millwall at Bramall Lane.
Aaron Morley’s Bolton Wanderers grabbed a last gasp equaliser against Tom Hamer’s Lincoln City at the Toughsheet Stadium (1-1).
Also in League One, Luke Bolton scored his first goal for Mansfield which proved to be the winner at Field Mill. Town beat Leyton Orient 4-1.
Ronan Darcy danced his way through the Harrogate Town defence, scoring a brilliant individual goal in Chesterfield’s 2-1 win at Wetherby Road. ‘The Spireites’ occupy second place in the League Two table.
Milton Keynes Dons turned around a half-time deficit to maintain their unbeaten start to the season. Gethin Jones’ side won 2-1 at Newport County.
Tom Barkhuizen supplied the assist for Barrow’s opening goal in the 2-0 win at Colchester United. Central midfielder Scott Smith completed a solid 90 minutes for the victors.
